5 Eco Friendly Travel Essentials We Love

Making consistent changes to our consumer habits at home isn't too hard, simple swaps mean were constantly rethinking and reducing the plastic that we buy. By really thinking about what we need, how we use it and how we can reduce waste we have found that our home is finally starting to move up the ranks when it comes to being an eco-friendly home. But what about when we travel? it's too easy to end up buying non-eco friendly products as a last-minute panic sets in about whether we have everything we need.

1) Plastic Free Sun cream Stick

We have found it pretty hard to simply pick up a plastic free suncream in the shops. However, if you're prepared to olan ahead then we suggest ordering a Sol De Ibiza tin and stick. Plastic, and Cruelyty free the vegan products are perfect for throeing in your back. Bonus points for the non messy packaging that means you can bring it home and use again and again.

2) Laundry Detergent Sheets

Whether it's backpacking or a self-catering stay abroad the benefits of laundry detergent sheets over traditional liquid detergents are truly great.

The lightweight, water-free formula means no bulky bottle and no fear of leaks, hurrah!

The slimline box means they''ll pack into a suitcase or backpack easily and they will be just as easy to bring home, so no more wasted half used bottles staying abroad.

Available as both fragranced and fragranced free versions.

3) Plastic Free Deodorant Stick

Reusable deodorant sticks are nothing new, but we're still disappointed in the plastic cases so many of them come with. Thankfully some brands have removed the plastic casing and we love Ku.tis for their vegan deodorant, perfect for taking on your travels this summer.

4) Solid Shampoo Bar

In case you haven't noticed, we love a travel essential that takes a traditionally liquid product and turns it into a solid - bonus points for totally removing the plastic packaging.

We think solid shampoo bars are a great swap from traditional liquid shampoos that are often in plastic bottles and it isn't just a holiday swap - you'll find these in our shower all year round.

We love Lush's range and a handy tin can also be bought to make travelling as easy as possible.

5) Space Saving Packing Cubes

If travelling light is the aim of the game then Travel Dude's space-saving cubes are a great way to pack clothing when travelling. As well as making organisation easier the cubes help save space and they are made from recycled plastic.

5 Easy Swaps We Hope You'll Make

We think these eco-friendly travel essentials are perfect for anyone hoping to make their travels a bit more eco-friendly. We love that a few of these handy swaps are perfect for your home too, making a permanent step towards lowering your home's carbon footprint.
